Job summary

Oregon State University’s Chemistry Department is hiring two part-time Student Technical Assistants to support ChemStores and department operations across Gilbert Hall and LPSC. The role focuses on inventory, customer service, building services, and event support.

Ideal candidates are enrolled students, detail-oriented, with good communication skills, able to work up to 24 hours per week, and willing to complete safety trainings.

Qualifications

  • Must be academically enrolled in a college/university or equivalent and pursuing a program
  • Must meet academic standing requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible
  • Must meet applicable minimal enrollment standard
  • Available to work 40 hours the week of Spring Break (Annual Store Inventory)
  • Successfully complete all safety training courses
  • Organized
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good customer service skills
  • Numeric and reading comprehension
  • Basic Computer Skills (Log on/off, open browser, operate mouse/keyboard, spreadsheets, word processing, PDF, etc.)

Job Description:

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Technical Assistant positions for the Department of Chemistry at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Chemistry Department Student Worker reports to the Chemistry Building Services Coordinator, helping the Chemistry Department Store (ChemStores) and other Chemistry Department needs within both Chemistry Buildings: Gilbert Hall and Linus Pauling Science Center (LPSC)
