Job summary

Air Distribution Limited in Oklahoma is seeking an Inventory Analyst to ensure the availability, accuracy, and integrity of inventory needed to support production schedules and customer commitments. You will perform daily cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, coordinate with suppliers and production teams, and participate in quarterly inventories to optimize stockroom efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with related experience or equivalent combination is expected.
  • Data entry and inventory transaction processing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems, MAPICS or similar inventory management platforms.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and mechanical reasoning skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counting and reporting activities for both primary and secondary inventory locations.
  • Execute inventory control procedures to identify, research, and resolve inventory balance discrepancies.
  • Conduct daily location audits to validate inventory placement and location accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all materials are properly accounted for within inventory control systems.
  • Review work order closure variance reports and investigate inventory-related discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, production teams, and materials management to ensure required materials are available to support production schedules.
  • Monitor material availability and communicate shortages, delays, and supply concerns to appropriate departments.
  • Attend daily production meetings to review job status, material shortages, and potential schedule impacts.
  • Maintain job-specific inventory and material data and communicate discrepancies promptly to stakeholders.
  • Assist in production scheduling activities as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Support receiving discrepancy investigations and non-conforming material resolution.
  • Coordinate with materials management to support quarterly physical inventories, including occasional Saturday shifts.

Description

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for ensuring the availability, accuracy, and integrity of inventory required to support production schedules and customer commitments. This role partners closely with Suppliers, Production, Materials Management, Engineering, and Inventory teams to maintain inventory accuracy, optimize material flow, resolve discrepancies, and improve stockroom efficiency. The Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in supporting production continuity through proactive inventory control, auditing, analysis, and materials coordination activities.

What You'll Do
Inventory Control & Accuracy
  • Perform daily cycle counting and reporting activities for both primary and secondary inventory locations.
  • Execute inventory control procedures to identify, research, and resolve inventory balance discrepancies.
  • Conduct daily location audits to validate inventory placement and location accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all materials are properly accounted for within inventory control systems.

  • Ensure Item Master and Item Balance records remain accurate for manufactured products.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, production teams, and materials management to ensure required materials are available to support production schedules.
  • Monitor material availability and communicate shortages, delays, and supply concerns to appropriate departments.
  • Attend daily production meetings to review job status, material shortages, and potential schedule impacts.
  • Maintain job-specific inventory and material data and communicate discrepancies promptly to stakeholders.
  • Assist in production scheduling activities as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Support receiving discrepancy investigations and non-conforming material resolution.

Coordinate with materials management to support quarterly physical inventories, including occasional Saturday shifts.

Inventory Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Analyze product supply and demand trends to optimize inventory placement, stockroom efficiency, and operational productivity.
  • Develop inventory locations for new products, including initial cycle counts and the establishment of weight and cube information.
  • Search for missing or misplaced inventory and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Scrap obsolete inventory in accordance with approved procedures and company policies.
  • Monitor and manage Material Review Board (MRB) inventory to ensure excess, obsolete, damaged, or non-conforming materials are dispositioned appropriately.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Materials, Stockroom, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier partners to support inventory accuracy and production schedules.
  • Ensure suspect or held inventory is properly identified, segregated, and processed until final disposition is determined.
  • Support documentation and processes related to material requisitioning and inventory management programs.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration across departments to ensure operational alignment and inventory integrity.
What We Look For
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience, OR an Associate degree with six (6) years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Data entry and inventory transaction processing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems, including MAPICS or similar inventory management platforms.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and mechanical reasoning skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • APICS Certification (CPIM or related certification).
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, materials management, or supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory optimization, cycle count programs, and continuous improvement methodologies.
