Aston Carter is seeking an Accounting Manager in Irving, TX to lead inventory accounting, ensure the accuracy of financial results, and provide analysis to support business decisions in a high-volume retail environment.

You will analyze large data sets, support RMA-based inventory valuation, resolve discrepancies, partner with Merchandising, Operations and Technology, and drive process improvements, internal controls, and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience with the Retail Method of Accounting (RMA) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Responsabilités

• Analyze large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, financial risks, and opportunities.
• Support inventory accounting processes utilizing the Retail Method of Accounting, including analysis of cost complements, markups, markdowns, shrink, and inventory valuation.
• Investigate accounting and system discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Ensure inventory balances and transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger and supporting inventory systems.
• Partner with Merchandising, Operations, Technology, and other accounting teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Lead process improvements, automation, system enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
• Maintain strong internal controls, accounting documentation, and audit readiness.
• Proactively identify issues and drive solutions with minimal direction.
