Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Accountant to support the full accounting cycle with a focus on accounts receivable, cash applications, and month-end close. The role is based in Irving, TX, a contract-to-hire position in a manufacturing environment with a multi-location finance team.

Responsibilities include invoicing, cash posting, collections support, and journal entries, with collaboration across customer service, sales, and production teams.

Qualifications

• 35 years of accounting or finance experience.
• AR, including invoice posting, cash application, and collections support.
• GL accounting and participation in the month-end close process.
• Excel proficiency for reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
• Excellent communication and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Post daily accounts receivable invoices and email to customers.
• Process daily remote bank deposits and record AR cash receipts.
• Prepare and distribute daily cash and collections reports.
• Respond to customer invoice inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Support collection efforts with past-due balances.
• Assist with monthly commission and royalty calculations and entries.
• Distribute account statements to customers and respond to inquiries from sales.
• Assist with month-end close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with other departments for accurate accounting across the business.
• Assist with annual external audit requests and supporting schedules.
• Assist with year-end accounting for physical inventory counts.
