Job summary

Dal-Tile seeks a Manager of Inventory Accounting to lead the inventory accounting function across the organization in Dallas. You will oversee valuation, costing, reserves, and month-end close, ensuring adherence to U.S.

GAAP and internal policies while managing intercompany AP and system issues with IT and operations. You will develop the team, implement strong controls, and partner with manufacturing to monitor performance metrics and SOX compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in accounting/finance.
• 2+ years leading accounting teams.
• Manufacturing, inventory, cost accounting experience.
• Experience with large ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics/JD Edwards).
• CPA or public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and development for the inventory accounting team.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation under U.S. GAAP.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for inventory.
• Review and approve inventory reserves (excess, obsolete, slow-moving, damaged).
• Approve sourced standard costing process.
• Prepare inventory reconciliations and financial schedules.
• Analyze inventory trends and performance metrics.
• Maintain SOX-compliant controls over inventory processes.
• Coordinate internal and external audits for inventory accounting.
• Drive process improvements in controls, reporting, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with operations and IT to fix system issues.
