Top Echelon Software LLC is seeking a Mid-Level International Trade Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC team. The role supports a sophisticated practice focused on export controls, tariffs, customs, sanctions, and CFIUS reviews in a hybrid setting.

Ideal candidates hold a DC bar in good standing, a JD from a top-tier school, and 2+ years in international trade law, with Mandarin language skills as a plus. A competitive compensation package is offered.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the District of Columbia, in good standing.
• 2+ years of substantive experience in international trade law.
• Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
• Experience in BIS and/or DDTC export controls is preferred.
• Experience with U.S. antidumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on U.S. export controls, customs law, tariffs, sanctions, and CFIUS reviews.
• Assist clients with compliance requirements by BIS, DDTC, U.S. Customs and OFAC.
• Analyze customs matters involving product entry, classification, valuation, and related regulations.
• Support matters involving antidumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard laws.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research and provide practical guidance on complex issues.
• Draft memoranda, submissions, and client communications.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practices on cross-border regulatory matters.
• Monitor developments in international trade law and advise clients accordingly.
