Ashford Connex, LLC in Washington, DC, seeks a mid-level International Trade Associate Attorney to support a sophisticated practice focused on export controls, tariffs, customs, sanctions, and CFIUS reviews. This hybrid position offers close collaboration with partners on cross-border matters and opportunities for client-facing work.

Requirements include a JD from a top law school, DC Bar in good standing, 2–3+ years of international trade experience, and Mandarin language ability is a plus;

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the District of Columbia, in good standing.
• 2+ years of substantive experience in international trade law.
• Mandarin Chinese fluency is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Advise clients on U.S. export controls, tariffs, sanctions, and CFIUS reviews.
• Assist with BIS, DDTC, U.S. Customs, and OFAC compliance.
• Analyze customs matters including entry, classification, valuation, and regulatory issues.
• Support trade remedy investigations and related regulatory matters.
• Draft memoranda, submissions, and client communications.
• Collaborate with cross-office teams on complex cross-border issues.
