Job summary

The AmLaw 50 international law firm in Washington, DC seeks a Mid-Level International Trade Associate to support a sophisticated practice focused on U.S. export controls, tariffs, customs, sanctions, and CFIUS reviews. The role is hybrid in Washington, DC.

Candidate should have a JD from a top-tier law school, DC bar in good standing, 2–3+ years of international trade experience, and excellent research, writing, and communication skills; Mandarin is a plus and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in the District of Columbia, in good standing.
• 2/3+ years of substantive experience in international trade law.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on U.S. export controls, tariffs, and CFIUS matters.
• Assist with compliance by BIS, DDTC, and OFAC.
• Draft memoranda, submissions, and client communications.
• Collaborate across practices on cross-border regulatory matters.
• Monitor developments in international trade law and advise clients.
