Job summary

San Marcos CISD is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to provide targeted instruction for students with the goal of improving academic performance and meeting campus objectives. The incumbent will work under the principal within the assigned campus and collaborate with special education staff to tailor curricula.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree, a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, and demonstrated planning, organization, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned.
• Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of subjects assigned and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Experience: at least one semester of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Use strategies and activities to raise student performance on content-specific assessments.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans with written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for individual student differences.
• Present subject matter per TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan instructional activities reflecting students’ learning styles and needs.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed.
• Supervise instructional assistants and volunteers as assigned.
• Assess student achievement through formal and informal testing.
