Job summary
Valley Health System in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and registered nurses during operations. The role includes preparing and decontaminating equipment, maintaining trays and instruments, and supporting the care team across neonatal to geriatric patients.
The ideal candidate has NBSTSA certification, a formal Surgical Technology program, and at least 2 years of experience or a clinical internship.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal accredited Surgical Technology Program or military training required.
- Certification is required through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Minimum of 2 years experience or completion of a formal internship through an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and registered nurses by performing routine, technical, and related duties during surgical operations.
- Provide safe and competent care to patients across age groups and adapt to changes in workload or schedule.
- Maintain and decontaminate equipment, ensure turnover between procedures, and manage tray inventory and instrument maintenance.
