Job summary

Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support invasive angiographic procedures. Responsibilities include surgical scrub and circulation, patient care during and after procedures, and accurate documentation of hemodynamic and contrast records.

Requirements include ARRT or RCIS certification and CPR; ACLS preferred. Prior interventional radiology experience is preferred, with the ability to work in a fast-paced OR suite.

Qualifications

• ARRT or RCIS certification is required and CPR certification is required.
• Preferred: ACLS certification.
• 1 year experience in diagnostic radiology and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under physician direction.
• Explains procedures to patients and preps them for procedures.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by licensed personnel.
• Circulates during procedures and maintains patient comfort.
• Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamps as appropriate.
• Records and reports hemodynamic and contrast media information accurately and timely.
• Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineers for repairs.
