Job summary

Atrium Health Pineville in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist in invasive angiography procedures in the IR Suite. You will perform surgical scrub and circulation duties, and provide total patient care during and after procedures.

Responsibilities include radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under a physician, preparing patients, obtaining medications and contrast as directed, maintaining patient comfort, and documenting hemodynamic and contrast records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an institution accredited by ARRT in Radiologic Technology or RCIS training.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional procedures under physician direction.
• Explains the procedure to the patient and preps the patient for the procedure.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner or technologist.
• Circulates during the procedure and maintains patient comfort.
• Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
• Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
• Provides necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
• Records and processes hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.
