Job summary

The IR Technologist at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Streeterville, Chicago performs interventional radiology imaging procedures with a focus on safety, quality, and timely exams. The role supports nurses and physicians to ensure optimal patient flow and outcomes.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT-VI within two years, and BLS, with at least one year of radiology/IR experience. Four 10-hour shifts weekly; hourly pay range listed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT-VI Certification required within two years of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs IR imaging procedures according to department standards; ensures timely, quality exams.
• Verifies patient demographics and clinical data; ensures accurate data entry.
• Maintains image quality and submits examinations for physician interpretation.
• Adheres to radiation safety procedures and JC patient safety goals.
• Collaborates with nurses and physicians to optimize patient flow and care.
