Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Cardiovascular-interventional technologist to perform routine and specialized interventional radiology procedures under general supervision. The role includes assisting physicians, positioning patients, operating angiography equipment, and ensuring radiation safety.

The position requires 1 year of related experience, a radiologic technology program completion, ARRT vascular interventional certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of recent, dedicated experience with interventional radiological procedures required.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a Radiologic Technology training program approved by the American Medical Association.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Vascular Interventional Radiography
• Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

• Operates angiography equipment and applies ionizing radiation to the member per procedures and safety policies.
• Positions members and assists with comfort during procedures.
• Performs angiography and digital subtraction angiography using image-guided, sterile techniques.
• Operates imaging equipment to obtain radiographic images and selects films for the member’s record.
• Prepares radiopaque materials and assists with administration under supervision.
• Monitors member condition with standard vital signs and equipment during procedures.
• Maintains sterile field and handles inventory and procedure trays as needed.
• Ensures patient safety and reports safety hazards promptly.
• Collaborates with Interventional Radiologist or Cardio-Vascular Surgeon on planning and equipment needs.
• Performs clerical tasks and communication tied to angiography procedures as required.
• Supports in maintaining equipment and room readiness for procedures.
• Adheres to Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies.
