Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Interventional Technologist to scrub in and assist physicians in interventional radiology procedures at South Hospital - UMC in Shepherdsville, KY. The role focuses on positioning, protocol parameters, image acquisition, and ensuring patient and staff safety.

The incumbent will work with the IR team to prepare for procedures, manage equipment, and ensure accurate documentation and charge capture in hospital systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient care in radiology procedures.
• Ability to follow radiation safety protocols and use protective equipment.
• Familiarity with imaging equipment and documentation systems.
• Experience with ensuring accuracy in patient identification and procedure prep.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs in and assists physician in interventional radiology procedures.
• Circulates in procedure room and procures required equipment.
• Position patients and set exposure parameters per protocol.
• Produce and evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
• Maintain infection control and sterile technique.
• Ensure paperwork and images are properly filed and charged in systems.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Assist in training new personnel and improve equipment proficiency.
