Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Registered Radiologic Technologist to join the Heart & Vascular Institute. The role involves assisting physicians in invasive cardiology and radiology procedures, administering contrast, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the care episode.

The ideal candidate holds an ARRT license, an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology, and ACLS certification.

Qualifications

ARRT-registered radiologic technologist licensed to practice radiography and capable of assisting imaging procedures.
ACLS certification obtained within one year of hire as required by the department.
Strong communication, patient care, and teamwork skills essential for invasive cardiology/radiology settings.

Responsibilities

Administers contrast material as requested by physician and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
Works under direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist for all functions and duties.
Assists with inventory and supplies, checks patient identity, and ensures correct charting and treatment position.
Documents accurately according to policies; explains procedures to patients and provides comfort, safety and confidentiality.
Performs essential Radiologic Technologist duties and participates in on-call or variable shift coverage as needed.
