Job summary

Prostate Centers USA is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) in Troy, MI to prepare patients and rooms for procedures. You will scrub in, pass instruments, and help with patient positioning while maintaining sterile technique and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians during interventional procedures, managing equipment and supplies, documenting data, and supporting billing and accreditation activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, BLS certification expected.
• At least 1 year of hands-on sterile procedural work; must have scrubbed cases.
• ARRT certification preferred to demonstrate radiology proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
• Reviews orders to determine needed materials and cleans/sets up rooms.
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists doctors during procedures.
• Maintains sterile technique and HIPAA compliance throughout.
• Oversees equipment maintenance, inventory, and waste disposal.
• May assist with accreditation surveys and safety duties.
• Communicates effectively with physicians and staff.
• Assists with billing, CPT and ICD9 code verification.

As an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Scrub Tech), you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Valid BLS Certification
• At least 1 year of hands-on in a sterile procedural environment in the last 5 years. Must have scrubbed cases
• ARRT Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
• Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
• Ensures effective communication with physicians
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes

Skills

• Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
• Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
• Working knowledge of interventional equipment

Working conditions

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
