Job summary

IR Centers is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) to assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, maintain sterile environment, and pass instruments during procedures.

You will position patients, input data into C-Arm, assist physicians, and help with equipment maintenance and supplies, while complying with HIPAA and handling billing tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid BLS certification required.
• At least 1 year of hands-on sterile procedural experience in the last 5 years with scrubbing cases.
• ARRT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
• Reviews orders to determine materials and sets up/cleans rooms.
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists during procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
• Complies with HIPAA, labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
• Ensures effective communication with physicians.
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.

As an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Scrub Tech), you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Valid BLS Certification
• At least 1 year of hands-on in a sterile procedural environment in the last 5 years. Must have scrubbed cases
• ARRT Certification (Preferred)

Skills

• Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
• Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
• Working knowledge of interventional equipment

Working conditions

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
