Job summary

Indiana University Health System seeks qualified Radiologic Technologists to support the cardiac cath lab in Methodist Hospital. The role includes assisting radiologists in interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and following radiation safety standards.

A sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants. On-call requirements include within 30 minutes of Methodist, one night per week and every fifth weekend.

Qualifications

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant radiologic technologist experience.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA is required.
• Must hold ARRT RT(R) certification and Indiana ISDH Radiologic Technologist license.
• May obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures, including scrub technologist duties.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and monitor patient dose alert levels.
• Set up sterile field and ensure appropriate supplies for procedures.
• Document necessary information in EMR and work within a multidisciplinary team.

Job description

• Four 10-hour shifts 7:00am -5:30pm Monday thru Friday with a rotating day off. On-call required, must be within 30 minutes of Methodist. Call is one night per week and every 5th weekend. Rotating call holiday schedule. Position located within the Cardiac cath lab in Methodist Hospital.

Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate. Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure. Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures. Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy. Communicates and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc). Documents necessary information in EMR.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.


• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.


• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.


• Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.


• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).


• May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.


• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.


• Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.
