Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist for the EP/cath lab. Shifts are 6:30a–5:00p with on-call weekend/holiday rotations. Live within 30 minutes of response time. You will assist radiologists in interventional procedures, maintain sterile fields, and document in the EMR.

Requirements include ARRT RT(R) certification, AHA BLS, active Indiana ISDH license, and 0–3 years of experience. Advanced interventional credentials may be required depending on the case mix.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of radiology experience.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Active ARRT RT(R) certification.
• Active Indiana ISDH Radiologic Technologist license.
• May require advanced interventional radiography credential.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologist/interventionalist during interventional procedures and serve as scrub tech when needed.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols and radiation safety standards.
• Prepare supplies and set up sterile field for procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy and communicate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Document required information in the EMR.

Job description

Overview

This position is for a Radiology Technologist in EP/cath lab . 4 - 10hr shift 6:30a -5:00p. On call weekend and holiday rotation. Must live within 30 min response time.

Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate. Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure. Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures. Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy. Communicates and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc). Documents necessary information in EMR.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
• Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.
