Job summary

HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist to operate diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in angiography and cardiac catheterization within the IR Lab. Rotating call coverage is required; experience with IR procedures, angiography, and neuro/ peripheral imaging is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology from a 2-year AMA-approved school.
  • Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
  • Current ARRT credential; RCIS credential also considered with IR experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years licensed experience in Radiology including at least 1 year IR experience.
  • Angio, Peripheral and Neuro experience a plus; BLS required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate accountability and responsibility and perform procedures and care in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner
  • Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures
  • Accurately perform technical radiographic procedures in accordance with established operating procedures and routines
  • Assist in administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure
  • Obtain high-quality radiographic images and review quality of radiographs to ensure quality standards have been met
  • Obtain and document all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history, pregnancy, allergies and obtains informed consent
  • Maintain effective communication with patient providing explanation of procedures within scope of practice as well as with caregiver colleagues to include radiologists
  • Responsible for rotating call assignments

Interventional Radiology Technologist

We are seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist on a full-time basis. You will operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in imagingprocedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization, as well as those performed in the Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab (scrubbing, circulating, and recording/monitoring patient status). Interventional Radiology Technologist responsibilities include but are not limited to:
