Job summary

Community Health Systems seeks a Special Procedures Radiology Technologist II to perform advanced diagnostic and interventional imaging under physician direction, support complex procedures, ensure high-quality images, and uphold strict radiation safety and sterile technique.

This role also supports leadership tasks such as staff education, workflow coordination, and regulatory compliance, and participates in scheduling, training of technologists or students, and document control.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• 3-5 years in special procedures, interventional radiology, or ambulatory surgical settings preferred
• ARRT certification and state licensure required; BCLS within 30 days of hire; ACLS/PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional and special procedures using fluoroscopy and radiography per orders.
• Verify informed consent, prepare patients, explain procedures, and give post-procedure instructions.
• Position patients to obtain high-quality images and assist during procedures.
• Maintain imaging equipment, track dosimetry badges, and ensure regulatory inspections.
• Educate staff on radiation safety and enforce ALARA principles.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and workflow coordination.
