Job summary

Western Missouri Medical Center is seeking an Interventional Radiology RN to deliver nursing care before, during, and after IR procedures. You will collaborate with radiologists and technologists and ensure patient safety and documentation in the EMR.

The ideal candidate holds Missouri RN licensure with BLS/ACLS, 1–2 years IR/critical care or perioperative experience, and strong critical thinking and communication skills. BSN preferred. On-site, full-time role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
• Currently licensed to practice as a professional Registered Nurse (RN) in Missouri.
• BSN preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS.
• 1-2 years IR/critical care/emergency/perioperative nursing experience.
• Moderate sedation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of development stages: young adulthood, middle age, geriatrics.
• Self-motivated and able to work within hospital policies.
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
• Able to work independently and prioritize.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with EMR systems and radiology workflows.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures, including histories and IV starts.
• Monitor patients during procedures with sedation support, ensuring stability and comfort.
• Assist radiologists during procedures.
• Provide post-procedure care, including recovery and discharge instructions.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control.
• Document all patient care in the EMR accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with small teams and cross-train as needed.
• Incorporate patient/family teaching into daily care.
• Implement care per interventions and document outcomes.
• Demonstrate positive customer service relations.
• Participate in QI projects and department improvement.
• Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy.
• May participate in rotating on-call for urgent IR procedures.
• Float to other areas such as pain clinic or endoscopy when needed.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Serve as sitters after training when required.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned.
