RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Special Procedures Interventional Radiology Unit at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick. This role supports patient assessment, safe medication and hands-on care, and coordination with physicians to ensure timely, well-coordinated care.

The position is part-time with a day shift from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., on-call weekends and holidays, and a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
• 1 year of RN experience in Critical Care or 2 years in Telemetry/Step Down is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or completed within 5 years upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes to intervene early.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately for next care steps.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to strengthen communication and transitions of care.
