Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Shift Coordinator to lead daily unit operations, coordinate nursing care, and support Nursing Administration. The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork with physicians, and adherence to ANA standards within the Illinois healthcare environment.

The position requires 3 years of nursing experience, a BSN, RN licensure in Illinois, and ACLS/BLS certification as appropriate to specialty. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in nursing leadership or clinical coordination.
• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills and proficient in English; strong communication abilities.
• Illinois RN license; ACLS and BLS certifications as required by specialty.

Responsibilities

• Actively supports Nursing Administration and Department Management initiatives.
• Coordinate needs of service-specific physicians within each team.
• Communicate effectively with team members, leadership and physicians.
• Oversee daily unit operations, staff, and care delivery.
• Ensure a safe, clean environment and adherence to policies and ANA standards.
• Assign daily case loads and manage equipment, supplies and carts.
• Serve as a clinical resource for the specialty and promote staff development.
