Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Leader for Interventional Radiology to model professional behavior, drive change, and support staff development. You will partner with the nurse manager on governance, onboarding, and certification initiatives to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.

The role requires NJ RN licensure, BLS, 3–5 years IR experience, and leadership background.

Qualifications

• RN license required (NJ)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• 3–5 years Interventional Radiology experience required
• Leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and models professional behavior with all staff and provider interactions.
• Serves as change agent and role model to assist staff in embracing necessary change.
• Completes annual performance appraisals with feedback, professional development plan and self-appraisal.
• Attends meetings as directed by nurse manager.
• Promotes unit-based shared governance and supports removing barriers in partnership with the nurse manager.
• Promotes professional development plan and conducts check-ins with educators and staff.
• Promotes nursing specialty certification in partnership with the nurse manager.
• Fosters a positive working environment and engages staff through leadership rounding.
• Facilitates interviewing and onboarding of new hires and peri-op fellows.
• Identifies, plans, and implements activities to ensure patient care meets professional standards, evidence-based practice, safety goals and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitors departmental performance in evidence-based practices, quality and patient safety goals.
• Creates goals and action plans in collaboration with NM for unmet goals.
• Participates in regulatory readiness.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with patients, families, peers, and departments to meet patient experience goals.
• Investigates and provides feedback on identified patient or departmental concerns.
• Works with nurse manager to address improvement needs.
• Assesses initiatives and adjusts plans to achieve organizational and department goals.
• Ensures effective implementation of financial plan in partnership with nurse manager.
• Demonstrates fiscal stewardship through efficient use of resources while maintaining patient care standards.
• Manages API staff self-schedule and payroll tasks.
• Assists with premium hour criteria and process.
• Contributes to expense control and revenue enhancement.
