Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine's Radiology Department is seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join our growing team at Stony Brook University Hospital. The physician will contribute to a broad IR service in a Level 1 trauma center and engage in teaching residents, fellows and medical students with an academic appointment.

There is support for leadership roles and for research, with possibilities for ESIR and potential Integrated IR Fellowship; a Renaissance School of Medicine affiliation supports

Qualifications

• MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) degree.
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure in New York State.
• Board Certified/Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at an ACGME-accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Join a division of dedicated Interventional Radiologists and support staff.
• Perform a wide range of IR procedures in a Level 1 trauma center with a large referral base.

Job description

The Radiology Department at Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join our growing team.

General Responsibilities

The candidate will join a division of dedicated Interventional Radiologists, an IR Physician Assistant and an IR Nurse Practitioner. The candidate will perform a wide range of challenging and interesting procedures as Stony Brook is a Level 1 trauma center and the only tertiary care hospital in Suffolk County with a large referral base. They will also hold an academic appointment with our Renaissance School of Medicine with the opportunity to teach and mentor residents, fellows and medical students. Our Radiology Residency Program supports an ESIR Program, and we are considering beginning an Integrated IR Fellowship. There is also support for a Leadership position for qualified candidates as well as opportunities for research.

Pur IR suite is located in the new hospital pavilion with state-of-the-art equipment, a dedicated IR CT and four (4) Angio rooms including a Bi-Plane room.

Faculty Appointment Eligibility

Tenure/Non-Tenure Track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. To qualify for tenure faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) degree
• Licensed, or, eligible for licensure in New York State
• Board Certified/Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology, Training and experience in all areas of VIR
• Completed/soon to complete a Fellowship or equivalent training in Interventional Radiology at an ACGME-accredited institution.

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
