Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Radiographer-Interventional to provide imaging services for inpatients and outpatients, including vascular, neuro, and spine interventional procedures.

The role requires an Illinois license (IEMA), ARRT in radiography, CPR (BLS) certification, and graduation from an accredited radiography program. A strong commitment to patient safety and professional standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois license through IEMA.
• ARRT registry in radiography.
• CPR certification (BLS) through AHA.
• Graduate of an accredited radiography program.

Responsibilities

• Performs vascular interventional, neuro interventional and spine interventional imaging procedures.
• Evaluates the request for radiographic service and assesses the patient to determine the appropriate procedure protocol.
• Corroborates patient history with procedure and documents information for licensed practitioners.
• Prepare patient for procedures; give instructions to obtain desired results and minimize anxiety.
• Operate imaging equipment and accessories; select appropriate program for protocol.
• Position patient to best demonstrate the area of interest while considering comfort.
• Employ imaging systems and positioning techniques to generate interventional images.
• Provide patient education before, during, and after the procedure to reduce anxiety and enhance comfort.
• Follow safe radiation practices to limit exposure to patient and staff.
• Document procedures to ensure correct charging and record keeping.
• Monitor supplies and maintain orderly imaging rooms; reorder as needed.
• Report equipment issues to supervision or QC personnel.
• Provide imaging services of optimum quality and productivity; ensure good customer service.
• Collect data for quality management activities.
• Participate in process improvement and problem solving; suggest corrective actions.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
