Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures, ensuring protocol adherence and delivering high-quality, age-appropriate patient care.

Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program with ARRT or ARDMS certification and BCLS required. No experience needed; comprehensive on-the-job training provided at our Georgia facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• Successful completion of required CPR/BCLS training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in interventional radiology procedures across all age groups.
• Positions patient, selects protocol, and uses required imaging equipment.
• Maintains competencies for related components and documentation.
• Follows established imaging protocols for each examination.
• Delivers age-appropriate patient education and communication.
• Adheres to Radiation Safety Policies and dose reduction principles.
• Position and operate imaging equipment per exam requirements across all ages.

Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
