Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Smyrna, GA is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist. You will perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angiography and related studies, with emphasis on patient safety and quality care across age groups.

Responsibilities include following imaging protocols, completing post-processing, and maintaining accurate records. An AMA/JRCERT-approved education path and BCLS are required, with no prior experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures including angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and GI studies; completes post-processing and record keeping.
• Adheres to established imaging protocols and radiation safety policies.
• Provides age-appropriate patient care and education across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
