Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer general RT procedures, manage ventilatory support, and assist with interventional pulmonary procedures in ICU, ER, and floor settings.

The role requires CA RRT and RCP credentials, an AS degree, BART or BLS with commitment to RAT within 6 months, and strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and patient-centered care in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Two (2) year advance practice RT Education Program/AS Degree.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) issued by the state of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get RAT within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Administers general Respiratory Therapy procedures (humidity and aerosol therapy, lung inflation maneuvers, pulmonary secretion clearance).
• Manages continuous ventilatory support and monitors invasive/noninvasive procedures.
• Assists with bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonary procedures (EBUS, navigation bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, chest tube).
• Acts as OR circulator/scrub when required and observes sterile technique.
