Job summary

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification required.
• American Heart Association CPR certification required.
• Fluoroscopy competency and sterile competency checklists as determined by supervising physician.
• Proficiency in basic clinical skills (phlebotomy, blood pressure, EKG, injections, autoclaving).
• Knowledge of infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam room in a timely and courteous manner.
• Reviews patient chart to ensure all reports and results required by provider are available prior to exam/treatment.
• Obtains and documents patient vitals.
• Assists providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
• Maintains and prepares the Procedure Room for interventional procedures and sterile field setup.
• Assists with fluoroscopy procedures under physician supervision.
• Performs venipuncture and collects/lables specimens as needed.
• Documents all activities in the medical record.
