Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an Interventional Technologist to prep patients, perform interventional radiology procedures, and assist the Radiologist in a sterile setting.

You will contribute to quality patient care, participate in safety programs, supervise students, and help with documentation and billing. The role requires ARRT registration and BLS CPR, with cross-training opportunities in a dynamic radiology department.

Qualifications

• ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology; CV registered preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required.
• Six months’ relevant experience required (minimum of three in Interventional Radiology or completion of cross-training).
• Three years relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for interventional procedures by confirming orders, verifying identities, and obtaining medical histories.
• Performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures on all patient ages and maintains competency.
• Maintains a safe environment by enforcing sterile technique and radiation safety practices.
• Supervises students and supports cross-training programs in Interventional Radiology.
• Monitors inventory of supplies and ensures continuous service delivery.
• Documents patient and procedure data for accurate billing and records.
• Participates in performance improvement using a PDCA framework.
• Administers contrast agents per guidelines and ensures safe usage.
• Meets age-specific patient needs across defined groups.
