Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Registered Nurse in Arkansas to provide direct patient care throughout interventional pain procedures. You will assess patients, prepare for procedures, assist with injections, and monitor recovery while maintaining sterile technique and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include post-procedure education, discharge instructions, EHR documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ASBN approved nursing program.
• Licensed RN in Arkansas, (or eligible) and in good standing.
• 1 year of direct RN nursing care experience.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on day one.
• Current BLS preferred; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Assess patients pre-procedure by reviewing history, labs, vitals.
• Prepare patients for interventional pain procedures and obtain consent.
• Assist physicians during epidural injections, nerve blocks, and other procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare rooms, meds, and supplies.
• Administer sedation, local anesthetics, and IV meds as credentialed.
• Monitor patients for vital changes and complications during procedures.
• Deliver post-procedure recovery care and educate patients on post-care.
• Provide discharge instructions on activity, meds, wound care, and follow-ups.
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and continuity of care with teams.
• Document assessments, interventions, meds, and outcomes in the EHR.
• Respond to emergencies using ACLS protocols when required.
• Maintain infection prevention and regulatory compliance.
• Educate patients and families about chronic pain conditions and treatments.

Job description

• Provide direct patient care to assigned patients using the nursing process
• Practice within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and institutional policies, procedures, and standards
• Assess patients before procedures by reviewing medical history, allergies, medications, laboratory results, and obtaining baseline vital signs
• Prepare patients for interventional pain procedures, verify informed consent, and provide procedure and post-procedure education
• Assist physicians during epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord stimulator trials, joint injections, and other image-guided interventions
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare procedure rooms, equipment, medications, and supplies
• Administer moderate sedation when credentialed, local anesthetics, IV medications, and emergency medications according to orders and policy
• Continuously monitor patients during procedures for vital-sign changes, pain, and complications
• Provide post-procedure recovery care and assess for adverse reactions or complications
• Deliver discharge instructions regarding activity restrictions, medications, wound care, follow-up appointments, and warning signs
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, insurance authorizations, and continuity of care with providers and multidisciplinary teams
• Document assessments, interventions, medications, procedural details, education, and outcomes in the EHR
• Respond to medical emergencies using ACLS protocols when required
• Maintain infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
• Educate patients and families about chronic pain conditions, treatment plans, and realistic expectations

Requirements

• Graduate from an ASBN approved nursing program
• Associate Degree, Bachelor's in Nursing, Master's in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma
• Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Arkansas
• 1 year of direct RN Nursing Care experience
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
• Current BLS preferred
• Current ACLS for Procedural Area preferred
