Job summary

NorthStar Psychiatry in the Greater Portland area is seeking a motivated Mental Health Technician to support an outpatient clinic with hands-on patient care and front-desk duties. You will assist with interventional treatments such as Ketamine/Spravato therapy, TMS, and other neuro-therapeutics, while ensuring patient safety and HIPAA compliance.

Daily responsibilities include prepping treatment rooms, managing EMR and scheduling, answering calls, and supporting patients through care plans.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certification as a Psychiatric Technician, CMA, or Phlebotomist preferred.
• Experience with IV & vascular procedures is a plus but not required.
• Hands-on experience with medical scheduling software and EMR systems.
• Active BLS/CPR certification required (or obtainable within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor psychiatric patients to assess mental and physical condition.
• Assist with behavior management, de-escalation, and crisis prevention.
• Provide patient care and support activities of daily living.
• Document patient interactions and medical records in EMR.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
