Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Ohio seeks an experienced Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist to assist licensed practitioners in fluoroscopic and interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique and documenting medications and radiation exposure in line with regulations. This role involves performing vascular ultrasound exams, preparing patients, coordinating with referring physicians, and using EPIC/EHR and PACS systems.

ARRT or CCI certification is required, with BLS.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain prior to direct patient care) (required)
• ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support- American Heart Association (preferred)
• Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) (preferred)
• Vascular-Interventional Radiology R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT) (preferred)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state)

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
• Prepares patients for procedures, including explaining the procedure and providing instructions to obtain desired results and cooperation.
• Contacts referring physician for clarification prior to performing an exam if order correctness is in doubt.
• Uses the hospital EMR to review patient information, enter preliminary reporting, and document critical findings.
• Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Adheres to the Mission and Values of Bon Secours Mercy Health and complies with laws and policies.
• Follows safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality standards.
• Demonstrates ability to perform non-invasive vascular exams at proficiency.
• Understands vascular anatomy, exam procedures, interpretation criteria, and correlates lab results with other procedures.
