Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center seeks a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist in invasive cardiovascular procedures under physician supervision. This role supports the cath lab team in monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating during procedures, and ensures equipment readiness and patient safety.

The ideal candidate will have RCIS or ARRT/TX RT(R) credentials, ACLS, and a healthcare degree, with ability to teach and orient staff and students. This is a full-time on-site opening in Texas.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• RCIS certification within six months of hire, or ARRT and TX RT(R) in lieu of RCIS.
• Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures by interpreting dysrhythmia and EKGs, operating physiologic recorder, and interpreting pressures and waveforms.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status and handling supplies.
• Assists with transport of patient to and from department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used.
• Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and demonstrates inventory control.
• Post procedure safety removes arterial/venous sheath, maintains hemostasis, and monitors patient.
• Prepares lab for procedure and maintains sterile technique.
• Prepares patient for procedure and marks arterial pulses.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.
