Job summary

Methodist Health System's Midlothian Medical Center in Texas seeks a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures under supervision.

The role requires RCIS or ARRT with TX RT(R) or equivalent, ACLS certification, and related cath lab experience. You will support physicians, operate imaging equipment, monitor patient status, and help prep and transport patients in a modern cath lab.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.
• Cath or Interventional Radiology experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as monitor tech during cath lab procedures by interpreting basic and advanced tr dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures as circulator by monitoring patient status, handing supplies, and operating imaging equipment.
• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab and maintains sterile technique.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and demonstrates inventory control.
• Post-procedure safety: remove arterial/venous sheath, maintain hemostasis, monitor patient status.
