Job summary

UPMC Passavant is hiring a Full Time RN to support our Cardiac Cath Lab at 9100 Babcock Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA. This on-site day-shift position includes a rotating on-call requirement.

The unit performs complex interventional cardiology procedures with a physician-led team, requiring strong nursing care, charting, and patient education. A 1+ year nursing background with cardiology/ICU exposure is preferred, with licensure to practice as an RN in the state.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of nursing experience required.
• Cardiology or ICU experience preferred.
• Strong emphasis on team building and leading teams in daily practice.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.

Responsibilities

• RNs directly assist the interventional cardiologist, as well as circulate the procedural room assisting in patient care during the procedure.
• RNs are responsible for conscious sedation for the patient and RNs are required, with proper shielding, to work around fluoroscopy ( radiation ).
• RNs are responsible for the patient charting/documentation of the procedure
• Creates a caring and compassionate patient focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
