Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist to assist physicians in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab under the direction of the Clinical Director and Medical Director. Responsibilities include sterile scrub, EMR documentation and circulating, with readiness for STEMI emergencies.

The role requires 5+ years in interventional Cath Lab, MD licensure as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist or CIC RCIS certification within 1 year, and BLS/ACLS

Qualifications

• Required: 5 years or more experience in interventional cath lab or related setting.
• AR RT certification as RT(R)(CV)/RT(R)(CI)/RT(R)(VI) and MD licensure as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist OR CIC RCIS certification within 1 year of hire.
• Life Support: BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS are required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, organizes and supervises lab operations.
• Prepares lab for procedures, monitors supplies and calibrations, and supports PI programs.
• Maintains age-appropriate patient care across the lab.
• Ensures aseptic technique and proper consent documentation.
• Sets up hemodynamic monitoring equipment, IVUS, EP equipment and other devices.
• Submits patient billing within 24 hours and communicates equipment issues promptly.
• Maintains safety, infection control and professional communication with clinicians.
