Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care in Kinston, NC is seeking a Special Procedures Tech to support cardiac catheterization labs within the Angiography unit. This full-time role involves setting up and scrubbing for interventional procedures, monitoring patient status, and ensuring safety and aseptic technique.

The ideal candidate will have NC licensure in an Allied Health field or RN with relevant experience, plus BLS/ACLS; strong communication and teamwork are essential for high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Alied Health radiology or related degree with NC license or RN with NC license and 1 year experience or RCIS with two years in cath lab.
• One year as staff technologist plus 6–12 months in Special Procedures.
• BLS/ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with performance of cardiac catheterization procedures and data collection.
• Interpret patient data and report changes to physicians and nurses.
• Ensure clean, functional patient care equipment and aseptic technique.
• Provide courteous care to patients and families; maintain safety.
• Assist with setup and scrub for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Maintain inventory and cost-effective use of supplies.
