Qualifications

• ARRT certification or eligibility required.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS certification within 120 days of start.
• Current state licensure and/or certifications to practice.
• PALS certification within 120 days for pediatric hospitals, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains up-to-date licensure and certifications required for position.
• Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech, according to Angio lab policies and procedures and Scope of Practice documents.
• Operates IR equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
• Prepares the patient for the exam with proper identification and order verification.
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
• Follows protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging guidelines, obtaining consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment issues.
• Provides patient education and ensures comfort; addresses patient/family concerns.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information and procedures.
• Coordinates patient care and communicates with other care providers after the procedure.
• At the end of the procedure, manages hemostasis by suturing sheath or applying pressure.
