Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and
• Completion of an approved teacher preparation program, student teaching experience, or other pathway recognized by the Nevada Department of Education; and
• Completion of training required by Nevada law, District policy, and the Nevada Department of Education, including required training related to Nevada school law and applicable provisions of the Nevada Constitution.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct educational service to students through instruction, supervision, assessment, feedback, intervention, enrichment, and student support.
• Serve as the teacher of record for assigned students, courses, grade levels, instructional programs, or content areas.
• Implement District-approved curriculum, Nevada Academic Content Standards, adopted instructional materials, school improvement priorities, classroom procedures, and schoolwide expectations.
• Exercise professional judgment to plan, prepare, deliver, assess, and continuously improve instruction based on student learning needs, grade-level or course expectations, classroom conditions, and evidence of student progress.
• Prepare lessons, review and evaluate student work, plan instruction, contact and conference with parents/guardians and administration, and complete required training or professional tasks consistent with the employee's assignment and the negotiated agreement.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete records, including attendance, grades, assessment results, student progress documentation, parent/guardian communication, and other records required by the employee's assignment or applicable student plans.
