Job summary

The Washoe County School District seeks an Elementary-Middle-High School Classroom Teacher to implement board policy and standards across instructional divisions. The role may cover one or more subjects and requires effective classroom management and strong instructional planning.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree with student teaching and the ability to obtain a Nevada teaching license in the relevant subject/grade.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience in teaching would provide the required knowledge and skills.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with student teaching experience
• Experience: Three (3) years of verified contracted teaching experience with a Bachelor's Degree and the ability to obtain a valid teaching license in Nevada

Responsibilities

• Planning and Preparation: Demonstrates mastery of content and pedagogy, knowledge of students and resources.
• Instruction: Communicates learning expectations to students; engages students in learning; embeds assessment in instruction.
• Professional Responsibilities: Maintains accurate records; reflects on teaching; participates in a professional community.
• Special Considerations: When selected for Department chair of a high school, additional pay based on teachers supervised.
