Job summary

Cleveland College Preparatory School, part of ACCEL Schools, seeks an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEP goals in a K-8 setting. You will collaborate with teachers to implement intervention strategies, assess needs, and drive student achievement.

The role emphasizes behavior planning, family communication, and culturally responsive teaching within a growth-oriented coaching environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room.
• Ability to coach via frequent observations, debriefs, and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in multi-cultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities and modify general education curricula.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals/objectives.
• Strive to meet goals related to student achievement and school culture.
• Use research-based best practices in planning and instruction.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching daily.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities such as events and field trips.
