ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist at Columbus Arts & Technology Academy in Columbus, Ohio to support students with IEPs within a rigorous, nurturing classroom environment. You will collaborate with classroom teachers, conduct diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, write behavior improvement plans, and facilitate IEP meetings to set measurable goals.

Qualifications

• State license required.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in inclusion/Co-Teaching in a Resource Room.
• Growth-focused coaching environment experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and modify instruction.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals and objectives.
• Support student achievement and culture goals.
• Apply research-based practices in daily planning.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into lessons.
• Serve as advisor to a group of students.
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Assist with planning non-instructional activities and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
