Job summary

Regional Multicultural Magnet School (RMMS) seeks an Intervention Specialist to join Student Support Services and help students in Grades 2–7 thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will provide targeted interventions, support independence, and partner with teachers and families to remove barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required; 60 credits acceptable.
• Experience with elementary and middle school students preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and successfully complete required de-escalation training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions to students in Grades 2-7.
• Support students individually and in small groups using evidence-based practices.
• Implement intervention plans and accommodations aligned with student needs.
• Collect, monitor, and analyze student progress data to inform instruction and intervention effectiveness.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and Student Support Services staff to identify barriers to learning and develop supports.
• Help students develop executive functioning, self-regulation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Support positive behavior strategies and foster safe, inclusive learning environments.
• Participate in PPT meetings, planning discussions, and family collaboration when appropriate.
• Prepare instructional materials, maintain documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with students and families to promote engagement and resilience.
