Summary

This teacher leadership position is designed to support the implementation of the ISD 622 elementary MTSS framework. This work includes leading and supporting academic and behavioral interventions, facilitating and scheduling data meetings, and supporting WIN implementation. This work may include providing professional development and leading building-level MTSS solution team meetings. This work requires collaboration with the building principal, classroom teachers, Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS), intervention teachers, Educational Assistants (EA), Multi-Lingual, Advanced Academics, Special Education, and district-wide departments to maintain a culture of collective inquiry and MTSS alignment.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education, or in the process of obtaining
  • Licensed in K-6 Elementary Education and at least five years of experience.
  • Extensive teacher leadership experience, specifically with tier I, II, and III academic and behavior intervention and supports.
  • Proficient with ISD 622 instructional technology.
  • Deep understanding of the ISD 622 MTSS framework, research, and evidence-based instructional methods, and high-impact intervention strategies for academics and behavior. This includes extensive knowledge of the Science of Reading (SoR) research and current best practices.
  • Ability to effectively plan and facilitate professional development in small and large groups.
  • Awareness of one's own racial and cultural identities and demonstrated ability to work across differences.
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining strong relationships working in partnership with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Effective interpersonal communication, organization, and technology skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong project management abilities and a growth mindset.
  • Proficient with district data collection and analysis, which includes proficiency in FastBridge, EduClimber, and Infinite Campus.
  • Strong knowledge of classroom and small-group instruction management techniques.
  • Considerable ability to interact effectively with all building staff, students, parents, and community members
Preferred Qualifications
  • K-12 Principal license, or in the process of obtaining
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of the District 622 Strategic Plan and Elementary MTSS framework. This includes academic and behavioral intervention and support.
  • Provide intervention instruction (individual or small-group instruction) in math, literacy, and behavior.
  • Manage WIN scheduling, planning, and implementation at the school site, collaborating closely with classroom teachers, intervention staff, BIS, ML, AA, special education, and building administration.
  • Support and direct the work of behavior and academic intervention staff, as guided by the MTSS framework. This includes BIS, intervention teachers, EAs, and other members of the MTSS Solution Solving team.
  • Provide professional development as needed regarding district-supported intervention tools and strategies.
  • Facilitate data team meetings after each screening period (fall, winter, spring), as well as ongoing progress monitoring data team meetings, ensuring that students' instructional and behavioral needs are identified, and targeted interventions are matched to student needs.
  • Is the data lead and EduClimber point person at the building. Oversight of student data, including academic, behavior, attendance, social/emotional, and other relevant data.
  • Attend and help facilitate the building-level MTSS solution team meetings, and provide data to the team related to the referred students' areas of concern as well as information about potential Tier III academic or behavioral interventions.
  • Attend regularly scheduled district-level team meetings with Teaching & Learning, REA, Office of Educational Equity, and Student Services district leadership.
  • Attend professional development opportunities related to data literacy and explicit instruction in literacy, math, behavior, and/or SEL as these opportunities arise.
  • Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the development of each student.
  • Support and assist in planning Title-funded family engagement activities, in collaboration with ML and building principal.
  • Support the inventory and maintenance of building intervention instructional materials.
  • Keeps current on research-based instructional strategies and best practices with an emphasis on student engagement and learning.
  • This position will serve as a building substitute, as needed and assigned by the principal.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by the building principal.
