Job summary

The State of South Carolina's Department of Social Services seeks an Interstate Specialist for the Child Support Services Division in Richland County. You will review incoming interstate referrals and determine appropriate actions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to federal regulations while maintaining case records.

Responsibilities include cross-referencing petitions in PACSS, managing caseloads within required timeframes, processing transmittals, and safeguarding PII and agency data.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 3 years of experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration or general business.
• Associate Degree and 1 year of experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration or general business.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher may substitute for part or all work experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and determine action on incoming interstate referrals from county DSS offices, clerks of court, and the public, ensuring accuracy and federal compliance.
• Cross reference interstate petitions with the PACSS system to prevent duplication and enter transmittals online.
• Manage caseload within federally mandated timeframes; maintain case records per FR 45 CFR 303.10.
• Process incoming interstate transmittals and correspondence from other states, tribal actions, and countries.
• Review interstate transmittals for required UIFSA documents and provide status updates to relevant offices.
• Protect and manage personal identifying information (PII) and safeguard agency networks and data.
