Join to apply for the Interpreter-Spanish role at SSON.

This position involves providing interpretation services within the State of California to assist individuals with language barriers. Interpretation duties include, but are not limited to, education, legal, medical, environmental, and social services contexts.

The Interpreter will perform all duties in accordance with Cayuse's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

Responsibilities:

1. Accurately interpret spoken situations such as lectures, conversations, and meetings.
2. Utilize technology to transcribe spoken English in certain settings.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or higher, or equivalent experience; certifications such as MISS, FSI, Legal translation online certifications, CTP, OHA preferred.
• Experience with the State Department, refugee services, FDA, Health & Human Services, medical, legal, or housing authority sectors.
• Ability to pass background checks, with potential for additional checks.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools.
• Self-motivated with multitasking abilities.
• Ability to build relationships and work independently or as part of a team.

Reports to:

Deputy Program Manager.

Working Conditions:

• Professional environment, with on-call responsibilities.
• Travel required for in-person interpretation at various locations.
• Ability to work extended periods, including flexible hours and holidays.
